CGI Federal has an exciting opportunity for a Network Security Engineer in our Emerging Technology Practice, Security Governance & Assurance team. This person will lead, develop and architect network security solutions for existing and new cyber security programs and clients. In addition, you will be providing technical network security solutions support to Business Units and clients by leading and assisting in the development of new cybersecurity network solutions to grow CGI Federal’s cybersecurity practice. The successful candidate for this position is a highly motivated individual, with a strong IT security background in networks and data centers, and who excels in designing and developing cybersecurity technology solutions and enjoys interacting with clients. The successful candidate is a self-starter who works effectively highly dynamic environment.
-Analyze client requirements and pain points, and develop cybersecurity network solutions for projects across agencies.
- Possess, lead and apply network security expertise in market-leading vendors, products, solutions and architectures in support of Business units and Client needs.
- Evaluate information assurance/security standards and procedures from a network security perspective.
- Function as a technical expert for Layer 2/3 network security solutions and risks to clients.
- Provide advanced architecture and engineering solution support to define and outline architectures and cybersecurity solutions such as firewalls, network switches, wireless, smart packet brokers, web application firewalls, authentication, authorization, identity management, PIV/CAC integration, encryption, and federation.
- Assist team with cybersecurity networking solutions or improvements.
- Assist in the technical design process of projects and solutions to incorporate network security requirements.
- Work in close collaboration with specialized technical teams, Business Units and clients.
- Engage with clients and participate in RFP/RFI cybersecurity opportunities to grow CGI Federal’s cybersecurity practice.

7-10 years’ experience as a Network Security Engineer
- Advanced understanding and familiarity with traditional route/switch, security, wireless and data center concepts, platforms and related technologies (i.e. Cisco, Fortinet, Palo Alto)
- Knowledge of various security applications, Internet technologies, and products
- Experience supporting RFP/RFI opportunities from a network security perspective.
- Previous experience installing, configuring, and sustaining network based security tools, such as firewalls, proxies and NAC
- Excellent client relationship & communication (verbal and written) skills
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work both independently and with a team
- Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with customers, team members, and management
- Ability to complete projects within a specified time frame with little supervision
- Ability to research, evaluate and test security network products to support customer needs
- Skilled in the ability to interpret business issues and recommend best practices of security architectures.
- Skilled in the ability to works on complex issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors.
- Exercises good judgment in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.
- US Citizenship is required
- Active Secret Clearance
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- A network engineer degree or BS/BE degree in computer science, cybersecurity or related IT fields.
- Previous experience as a hands-on network engineer.
- Experience on projects similar to the size, scope, and complexity of the work and environment providing technical leadership for network security solutions and systems to multiple government clients.
- Demonstrated experience in security architectures and the delivery of network security design and solutions using existing and emerging technologies to achieve enterprise solutions.
- Experience maintaining network security appliances such as: Palo Alto, Fortigate, and Cisco ASA firewall
- Strong networking background, i.e. Routing/Switching, TCP/IP/OSI models, specifically layers 3/4
- Experience with NAC security implementation and maintenance
- Knowledge of Cloud environments (i.e. AWS, Azure, etc.) and how it pertains to network security.
- Knowledge of and familiarity with 360 Degree Cybersecurity Solutions and market leading vendors (i.e. Endpoint, Mobile, Data Protection, Web, Secure Access, VPN, wireless, WAN acceleration, Security Operations, Messaging, etc.) to provide end-to-end cybersecurity solutions.
- Familiarity with Government standards (NIST, FIPS) and the FedRAMP process.
- Certifications: Advanced vendor certifications in network/data center design or implementation (i.e. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP))
