About the Team At Fanatics, we know that numbers are not just for jerseys. Our accounting and finance professionals are charged with taking a highly analytical approach towards financial data across every part of our business. We identify financial successes and opportunities, and then create detailed growth plans to reach and exceed our company goals. We bring numbers to life by developing innovative and strategic reporting as well as actionable insights for key stakeholders and executive leadership. The Senior Financial Analyst will be part of the Finance Team at Fanatics, a leading online retailer of officially licensed sports merchandise. The Finance team has a high level of exposure to both internal and external executive leadership and to all functional groups within Fanatics. Primary responsibilities will include financial reporting and analysis, involvement in the budgeting/forecasting processes, and being a financial liaison to stakeholders throughout the business.
Responsibilities:
- Support all key financial processes in the area of FP&A including partnering with key stakeholders to produce the annual budget, strategic plan, monthly forecasts, and reporting and analytical support
- Assist finance leadership with financial statements and other modeling
- Support the Monthly close process including preparation of variance reports and analyses
- Create and develop new metrics / reports for the business as needed for use in weekly and monthly financial reporting
- Perform ad hoc analysis to drive decision making for the leadership team
- Improve financial status by analyzing results and variances, identifying trends, and recommending appropriate actions
Qualifications:
- BS / BA in Business required (Finance or Accounting preferred)
- 2-5 years of financial planning and analysis experience preferred (retail experience a plus), ideally with proven experience in forecasting, budgeting, and monthly close activities
- Working knowledge of financial statements (P&L, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow)
- Must have strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organization
- Strong systems and Microsoft (e.g. PPT & Excel) and Reporting (e.g. MicroStrategy, Tableau) applications knowledge a plus
- Passion for sports a plus
