Who You'll Work With
You will be based in one of our North America office as a member of the product team, (together with a solution leader, tech lead, product engineers, designers, data scientist) shaping and building a new analytics hub to create and deploy analytics solutions across our defense and security clients on some of their toughest issues, in a fast-paced, non-hierarchical and caring environment. You will have exposure to the client leadership team serving defense and national security clients, senior McKinsey leaders and consultants, as the solution is developed and brought to new clients. In addition to the defense analytics product team, you will work with our broader ecosystem of data and analytics experts within the Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice. The team has grown to 300+ colleagues globally over the last four years. It is a unique mix of public sector and healthcare experts, statisticians, engineers, data scientists and more. We are redefining what it means for clients to work with McKinsey by driving innovation through advanced analytics, user experience design thinking, and new product development.What You'll Do
You will work as a member of the product team, (together with a solution leader, tech lead, product engineers, designers, data scientist) shaping and building a new analytics hub to create and deploy analytics solutions across defense and security clients. As an early member of the team, you will have the chance to shape the solutions/assets you build, working closely with the solution lead, product owner and designer. You will use agile engineering practices and various software and web development technologies to rapidly develop creative and efficient solutions. You will collaborate with other defense analytics team members to craft clear user stories, design tests for prototypes and products, and continuously deliver product enhancements to ensure that the defense analytics domain scales effectively to new use cases and new clients. You will identify, and integrate as needed, potential new software or services that can improve the scalability, capability and robustness of the technical stack while ensuring they comply with defense domain data security requirements. You will communicate with broader firm IT teams about any digital innovations that are tying into bedrock IT systems that affect the defense analytics domain and communicate with client leadership about agile processes to set and manage expectations about delivery methods and timelines. You will be an active learner, identifying and evaluating new tools and technologies to meet requirements. You will contribute code and participate in code reviews. You will break down user stories into technical tasks and requirements and you will identify, communicate and escalate risks when appropriate.This role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a certain level of security clearance mandated by the relevant U.S. government branch or agency.Qualifications
