Ancestry is looking for a project-based temporary Archival Digitization Specialist, to work on a contract basis in Trenton, NJ. This position requires a computer literate, technical individual with previous experience working with digitization, archival documents, and/or goal oriented projects. Qualified candidates are detail-oriented, organized, and accustomed to working independently in an environment that handles focused and repetitive tasks. This opportunity requires the contractor to work within the office hours set by each work site. The role will be part-time, with $15/hr. wage. This is
not a work-from-home position. This position is contract-based and is not eligible for Ancestry benefits.
What You'll Do:
- You will be capturing digital images of documents as specified by Ancestry
- You will be performing quality audits on each project that is scanned before transmission
- You will be tracking your progress by entering data into spreadsheets and other software
- You will troubleshoot basic problems with hardware, software, and image quality
- You will be performing basic image enhancement and file organization tasks

- You are able to manage multiple projects and prioritize project urgency in practical ways
- You have experience with Photography, Library Sciences, Archives, or History background
- You are a detailed-oriented, organized, and independent individual
