Payment Operations Support

Adyen is looking for an operationally focused personnel to communicate with our partner banks regarding day to day chargeback handling. Communication will be over phone as well as different forms of electronic messages. There’s a high degree of automation possible within this process that we like you to contribute to.

This role is part of the Japan payments operations team based in Tokyo.

What you’ll do

  • Communicating with issuing banks and verifying chargeback information
  • Input information into our internal system, making sure documents are filed correctly
  • Proactively review, analyze the procedures of our operations and improve them
  • Contribute to the automation of processes and tasks
  • Effectively resolving chargeback tasks and analyze the chargeback trends
  • Helping out with various payment related operational support
  • Working closely with your direct operations colleagues as well as Singapore and Amsterdam teams
  • Manage and train external temporary staff
  • When possible, travelling to Amsterdam and Singapore yearly as part of our exchange and training programs

Who you are

  • You have had direct experience working in business operation support. Preferably in the financial services or credit card industry.
  • You are interested in problem solving and process improvements
  • You have a great sense of responsibility, and you work well in a team
  • You understand you'll be working with confidential data and will act accordingly
  • You are pro-active, curious and not afraid to speak up
  • You are native or fluent in Japanese and can speak business level English
  • You have an ability to provide data insights related disputes
  • You are flexible enough to take on relevant tasks that require help
  • Due to border closures globally as a result of Covid-19, you must already reside in Japan and are able to work in Japan indefinitely without a work visa sponsorship
