The Treasury team at Booking.com is looking for a self-starting individual who is able to support our FX and Investment operational activities. Due to the continuous growth and the progression of the organization, the tasks and duties of this role may evolve over time. You will be keen to develop and grow within the role and to take on additional challenges and responsibilities in relation to middle and back office Treasury operations. As a member of the Global Finance team, you will bring Treasury subject matter expertise and serve as a trusted advisor to the wider Booking.com team.

In this role you will be part of our Global Treasury team of 30+ people and report to the Team Leader for Treasury Operations. You will be able to demonstrate flawless teamwork, attention to detail, coordination, and stakeholder management skills. With tenacity and a drive for successful project delivery, you will be able to work effectively with experts and stakeholders in the area of tax, legal, regulatory/risk management and financial systems.

You will be accustomed to a work environment that thrives on innovation and initiative, whilst also working within an enterprise risk framework.

Main responsibilities:

  • Drive, execute and participate in the evolution of the company's middle and back office processes, contribute meaningfully to the treasury team’s risk framework, while applying operational excellence to ensure best practice controls and processes are developed and adhered to;
  • Responsible for Treasury confirmations and regulatory compliance for all OTC FX derivative trading activities, to ensure all trades are matched before settlement and following up on any discrepancies with FX trading partners;
  • Maintenance of inter company loan agreements and positions, and quantification / confirmation of monthly interest accruals & charges;
  • Support cash and risk management related operational activities;
  • Be the lead individual for understanding and communicating the impact of key regulatory changes on existing processes (EMIR, Dodd Frank and Mifid II etc)
  • Be the lead to ensure that all FX activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements of the relevant regulatory frameworks and internal controls;
  • Support the annual audit process
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting for Treasury purposes;
  • Effectively and efficiently deal with all BAU middle and back office issues and queries;
  • Working closely with Risk and Compliance, Tax, Legal, Accounting teams across all levels of seniority to ensure adherence and improvement of processes’ control;
  • Drive process improvement for daily operational activities;
  • Identify opportunities to drive value through process automation and the elimination of process waste;
  • Management and execution of ad-hoc projects where required.

Required skills:

  • A proven track record of3+ years of relevant treasury experience (cash, FX, debt or risk management) gained in a corporate treasury environment or banking institution;
  • Knowledgeable on FX derivatives
  • Experience of working in adherence with SOX internal control processes
  • Minimum of a Bachelors degree, preferably in a finance or numerate related areas such as Finance, Accounting, Business or Economics
  • Excellent English speaker;
  • Self-starter able to work on a structured approach with minimal supervision;
  • Broad knowledge of micro and macroeconomic factors, with the ability to translate these into risk-based decision making;
  • Strong regulatory knowledge (EMIR, Dodd Frank, Mifid II) and DTCC Global Trade Repository
  • Experience with SAP Treasury ERP System, SWIFT payment infrastructure, FXALL Settlement Center, Refinitiv Market Data Services and Reval TRM is advantageous;
  • Able to adapt style and approach in order to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders from a variety of different cultures;
  • Able to demonstrate relentless tenacity to drive business objectives and deliver results;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
