Your Role and Responsibilities IBM's Supplier Diversity Program is an initiative which provides qualified diverse, and small business, enterprises the opportunity to participate in the procurement process globally.
The person chosen for the position will work with stakeholders (both internal and external). Internally they will work with IBM management and the procurement team; HR; Corporate Citizenship; and the Sales organization. Externally, they will work with IBM's suppliers (both diverse and non-diverse); CEOs/presidents of diverse businesses, US and non-US Governmental Organizations, IBM's clients and non-governmental organizations.
Individual will provide overall program leadership in their geography to insure all internal and external stakeholders are fully engaged and informed of the ongoing development and implementation of initiative.
Lead in development and review of program, innovation, increase spend with diverse suppliers utilized while working intimately with the America’s, AP or EMEA procurement team in support of the program.. They will assist in the creation of training programs for all stakeholders.
Analytical skills and Strategic thinking are required in order to dissect problems/spend, understand issues/deficits and develop actions to resolve. In this position, you will be responsible for managing all categories procured by their geography to achieve IBM's goals and developing strategies for the effective utilization of diverse business enterprises.
The individual will effectively communicate results to the stakeholders regarding status and strategies to ensure success of initiative. Furthermore, they will actively publicize the results via traditional and social media, as well as represent IBM at applicable external event and conferences.
In additional to geographic responsibility, there are global requirements, eg., 2nd Tier, policies and practices, website update, nomination support.
The individual will have responsibility in achieving IBM strategic objectives, enhancing the IBM brand, client satisfaction and impacting our bottom-line.
