The role

This is an exciting time to be joining GoCardless Product Development (PD). As a Technical Programme Manager, you would sit in the Product Operations team. You will be responsible for driving the delivery of cross team and cross functional programs of work, managing stakeholders, reporting and providing valuable input into planning activities with Product Development teams.

In addition there will be elements of the role where you will be able to bring some creativity and initiative to influence positive delivery changes to PD processes.

This role is an excellent opportunity for Technical Programme/Project Managers who are looking to build their experience working cross-functionally, with multiple teams and stakeholders. Non-technical programme/project managers are also welcome to apply if you have an interest moving into a technical role during your career.

As a TPM at GoCardless you will be working closely with Product Management, Engineering to:

  • Manage the delivery of programs
    • Create delivery plans for cross team/department programs
    • Highlight and manage program risks
    • Promote a delivery mindset amongst your team/s
  • Communicate effectively with teams and stakeholders
    • Provide milestone updates to teams and stakeholders
    • Esure the team, and stakeholders have the information they need
    • Track and report on key program metrics
  • Improve Group/Team processes
    • Use information on best practices from GoCardless and your previous experience to help shape team improvements

Additionally, as a member of the Product Operations team, you will take learnings from these programs and work with the Head of Product Operations to influence changes across Product Development.

What we’re looking for

This role will suit an individual who would like to build on their experience of managing cross-department, complex programs.

It is important that you have a strong delivery, coordination and organisational focus. You will ensure that programs are delivered to a high standard, on time, and details are communicated well through the course of the program.

To be successful in this role, you will have the following:

  • Understanding of product development processes
  • A pragmatic approach to delivering programs
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to adapt quickly to change
  • Exceptional communication skills
  • Analytical and problem solving skills
  • Collaborative working style, working with a range of technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Experience in agile working practices is desirable, but not essential
