Job purpose

The Category Manager is responsible for delivering category and Mars growth by successfully deploying the global category vision (Mars Wrigley / KIND) from the segment hub, customising for the business unit level. The role holder provides in depth category expertise and advice to the business unit to drive category leadership and value creation of the category. S/he provides recommendations for customisation at market level and supports Marketing and Sales to design tailor-made category approaches for local top customers.

Key outputs

• Localise category & trade stories towards retailer
• Implement Picture of Success and Merchandising Key Beliefs by segment and for main channels
• Identify and execute projects to achieve quality & quantity of distribution in line with Picture of Success
• Work with customers in line with the agreed service agreement per customer/Create relationship with local customer category team
• Identify and lead initiatives for our key growth platforms related to shelf/category management
• Prepare planograms as per project requirement
• Act as a Business Partner for Key Account Managers to agree and drive bold actions per customer

Qualifications

• Bachelor/Master ́s degree, preferably in business with a major in Demand or Sales management or similar
• 2-3 years Demand / Sales / Category Management experience, Cat Man process and tools certifications are a plus
• Fluent in German is an obligatory requirement, strong English skills
• Track record in building strong relationships with robust interpersonal and influencing skills
• Very good analytical skills and a solid business understanding as well as strong presentation skills
• Knowledge of the Austrian market and/or the Confectionery category would be beneficial
