Director of Immersion Programs, Thinkful

Role Overview:

Join us to change lives. As the Director of Immersion Programs, you will be responsible for scaling our full-time programs. You’ll set the bar for operational excellence to drive graduation and placement among our students. You will deliver a five-star student experience across our instruction, academic success, and careers teams that results in high student satisfaction and exceptional outcomes, measured by graduation and placement rates. You will oversee Academic Success, Instructors, and Careers teams by managing the managers of those teams, and partner with product and engineering to build a best-in-class experience delivered at scale.

Responsibilities:

• Lead a manager of student advisors who provide onboarding, coaching, feedback, and support to adult students in full-time, career accelerator programs
• Lead a manager of career coaches who support our graduates as they find jobs, including through directly building relationships with employers
• Establish and monitor goals, objectives, and key performance indicators across the operation to determine the efficacy of each aspect of the operation
• Own the forecast of student graduation and retention rate, attributing variance from forecast to explainable factors and continuously improving the forecast
• Work with our Product, Instructional Design and Engineering teams to execute against a shared vision for high quality, scalable education

Requirements:

• Minimum of 10 years of experience scaling an operational unit, with responsibility for guiding strategy, understanding a P&L, and motivating a diverse staff
• Prior experience managing managers with a strong track record of coaching and developing talent internally
• Experience in project management and successfully implementing large-scale strategic initiatives
• Data-fluent operator with prior experience owning a forecast and explaining variance from the forecast
• Prior experience partnering with product leadership to support their development and execution of an ambitious product roadmap
• A high degree of empathy for adult students
• Outstanding and supportive team player
