Where we need help

We need a talented individual to guide the strategic growth of Allbirds product offering. Operating at the intersection of art and science, this role will drive our Global Merchandising process from insight to execution, relying on a strong instinct for product and a passion for consumers. Our candidate has experience in the product creation and merchant function and is able to execute a product strategy via our go-to-market approach. They have a team first mentality, an innate curiosity, and an empathy for the innovation process that will help take Allbirds forward into a new age of sustainable manufacturing.

What does the job entail?

  • Working closely with a cross functional product team to execute Allbirds product strategy from insight to go-to-market execution;
  • Developing and coordinating the product merchandising strategy across online, retail and international channels;
  • Leveraging the internal “consumer insights” and design research function to develop a consumer informed future product pipeline that supports the overall product strategy;
  • Leveraging the internal “consumer insights” and design research function to develop product brief complete with rich storytelling to aid marketing in consumer facing campaigns
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the product roadmap with Design, identifying the most relevant future opportunities for the Footwear category.
  • Contribute to the development of product briefs outlining the key features and benefits, pricing strategy and the market opportunity for future products on the roadmap. Socialize the product briefs with key stakeholders to get cross functional alignment.
  • Working with cross-functional leads to ensure products are manufactured on time and on margin with the right inputs by coordinating with the key stakeholders in Supply Chain, Commercial and the Creative teams.
  • Maintain the financial line plan and quarterly visual line plans.
  • Aligning and delivering a line plan that drives key revenue targets, delivers key product moments and ensures continual growth
  • Providing operations key information to ensure their buys are inline with the merchandising strategy and financial goals;
  • Working with data and analytics to build metrics to ensure the strategy stays relevant to the changing marketplace;
  • Contributing to a hindsighting process that's embedded into overall GTM process;
  • Managing assortment selection, product flow, and pricing strategies across product lines and channels;
  • Championing our consumers, our product vision and our unrelenting commitment to better and more sustainably made products.
  • Lead quarterly global final product review presentation and ensure smooth product adoption process for regional assortments.
  • Kick off Product Master Data process ensuring correct product taxonomy for purchase order placement and e-commerce PDPs.
  • Coordinating and preparing for merchandising meetings and providing support for various internal share-out meetings.
  • Manage various department samples.

What kind of person are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience;
  • A relentlessly curious, consumer focused product manager / merchandiser and strategist with 3 - 5 years of product management, merchandising and consumer product strategy experience, preferably with a footwear lifestyle or fashion brand
  • Able to operate at the intersection of art and science with the ability to work from product design to data analysis;
  • Experience managing business across multiple channels and international markets;
  • Experience taking a product from insight to execution;
  • Experience making things;
  • A team first leader with the ability to work cross functionally and entrepreneurially;
  • Ability to extract insights from multiple data sources, and make informed, strategic decisions;
  • Someone with a genuine love for products, design, and innovation and a desire to be part of a new era of sustainable manufacturing.

More practical skills needed:

  • BA/BS or equivalent
  • Expert in Microsoft Office and Google Drive
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite a plus
  • Previous experience in Product merchandising / Product management or Product Creation
