Senior Solution Leader - Defense Analytics

Who You'll Work With

You will work closely with the client leadership team serving the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security clients, Public Sector practice (PSP) leaders and consultants serving the DoD.You will also work with our broader ecosystem of data and analytics leaders within the Social, Healthcare and Public Entities (SHaPE) practice. The team has grown to 300+ colleagues globally over the last four years. It is a unique mix of public sector and healthcare experts, statisticians, engineers, data scientists, and more. We are redefining what it means for clients to work with McKinsey by driving innovation through advanced analytics, user experience design thinking and new product development.

What You'll Do

You will work directly with senior McKinsey Defense and Public Sector leaders to shape the vision, strategy, and execution for delivering analytics in defense, and will build unique analytics capabilities and assets.In tandem with the McKinsey defense leaders, you will grow our capacity to deliver client impact through pre-eminent, scalable technology assets, colleagues and capabilities. You will build a healthy, high-performing defense analytics domain and oversee operations to develop and deploy assets and capabilities. In this role, you will assist in client development and in determining how to deploy technology assets in a way that is easy and secure for our clients. You will drive innovation in response to client needs, technology advancements and the competitive landscape. You will generate client demand as a credible and collaborative expert, colleague and client counselor. You will lead product deployments through a team of solution delivery and expert consulting colleagues. You will also manage the performance for our defense analytics domain assets and capabilities.This role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain a certain level of security clearance mandated by the relevant U.S. government branch or agency.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated fluency in analytics, both quantitative and qualitative, and comfort communicating machine learning and engineering requirements and concepts to technical and executive audiences.
• Proven record of leading large, diverse teams to build analytics tools and proofs of concept, ideally including full end user analytics applications
• Experience shaping, developing and scaling technology solutions, including articulating a vision, facilitating user communities and workshops, developing product roadmaps and grooming backlogs
• Experience building technology/analytics teams and developing technical talent
• Experience bringing technology solutions to market, determining pricing and go-to-market strategy and understanding the competitive landscape a plus
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effectively with people at all levels in an organization
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively, both verbally and in writing
• Bachelor’s degree; advanced degree is a plus
• Willing to travel: up to 40% if based in Washington DC; up to 60% if based elsewhere
• US citizenship
• TS/SCI clearance a plus
