Deputy Regional Director for Asia About Change.org Foundation : The Change.org Foundation empowers millions of people to use technology to build social movements and create transformational change. Today, we are facing an exciting challenge of maximizing the impact in different continents and expanding Change.org relevance beyond the petition experience. We are interested in improving our current products and creating new ones especially focused in promoting collective action and unlocking action-driven communities. About the role: We are looking for a passionate person for social change and citizen mobilization, who can boost our teams in the technological vanguard of citizen campaigns in Asia. As the Deputy Regional Director, you will be responsible for delivery against the overall strategic direction and operations in the Asia region, covering Japan, India, Indonesia and Thailand, and our expansion into Malaysia, with support and under the supervision of the Regional Director. The person can be based anywhere in Asia with a strong internet connection. We will not be working from any of our physical offices until at least mid-2021 due to covid-19. As a member of our team, you will; Management: Manage Country Directors and other relevant regional roles, supporting them on running successful operations in their countries, setting ambitious goals with their teams and motivating them to execute their plans with high quality. Strengthening Digital expertise: In particular, infuse our work in the region with the latest in digital marketing expertise, assessing our strengths and weaknesses and working with each country to develop tailored strategies to set them on a path of increasing growth. Revenue: Ensure the design and delivery of ambitious and rigorous revenue sustainability strategies that guarantee the healthy financial sustainability of countries in the region. Maintaining effective and cohesive teams: Ensure training, problem-solving, effective communication and sharing learning and innovation in the region. Strengthening our Brand regionally: Support countries in growing and protecting our brand as the world’s leading hub for civic organizing in the region. Liaison and network: Liaise with the Foundation global team to ensure needs from countries in the region are addressed. Expansion: Identify opportunities for regional expansion and support team members who are leading expansion efforts. This describes you; * have the ability to think strategically, develop long-term plans and to adapt to fast-changing political situations in an international environment, * have a track record of supporting teams to build out a strong digital presence across multiple channels to reach our users where they are, and implement strategic goal-setting, measurement, and best practices to ensure teams are working on the highest-leverage opportunities, * have a high level of business acumen including successful P&L management; the ability to balance the delivery of programs against the realities of a budget; and problem solving, project management, and creative resourcefulness, * have some knowledge of geographical, political, socio-economic trends, challenges and key players in the Asia region and ability to work effectively within a varied and changing set of issues and countries, * have experience in digital businesses and a strong understanding of digital marketing strategies, * have excellent verbal and written communication skills, including exceptional negotiation and advocacy skills in English and any other language of the region.
