What is the opportunity?

As a Senior Business Analyst in the Business Solutions & Integration Group, within Capital Markets, the incumbent will necessarily be exposed to a wide range of interesting business and technical problems in the execution of the operational support and BA roles.

The successful incumbent will support the group in following areas of BSI:

    • BA and operational business responsibilities in the daily production and remediation of XVA and MCAD VA valuations, risks and PNL explain for the Resource Management Group (RMG) and;
    • BA support in the delivery of RMG and other Enterprise Programs.

What will you do?

Responsibilities and expectations of the incumbent in the two primary roles are the following:

  1. Operational Business Support

Contribution in a leadership or partnering role to:

    • Support all RMG EOD processes including job setup and execution and management of market, trade, counterparty, reference and other input data;
    • Provide 2nd level business production support in the remediation of production issues at the EOD (Toronto time) or at the SOD (London time) and;
    • Support the desk with asks such as the setup and onboarding of new batches.
  1. BA Support for RMG and other Enterprise Projects

There are a number of RMG business driven projects and Enterprise change initiatives in which the BSI group plays leadership or supporting roles. As a Senior Business Analyst the incumbent would be expected to consult and contribute technical knowledge and large project planning and execution knowledge through the:

    • Facilitation of planning and requirements gathering meetings
    • Producing technical and business specifications and diagramming target state views of new processes, application UIs or component features;
    • Leading or participating in joint business, front-office Quant, and IT solutioning sessions
    • Supporting the program manager in the identification of and remediation of project risks and issues
    • Developing and executing test plans, working with traders, Risk, Finance, and front-office Quants, and IT.

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

    • Possess solid knowledge of derivative instruments acquired through 3-5 years working in Capital Markets environment and from exposure to front-office trading or valuations systems
    • Understand SDLC/QA processes / methodologies and have experience with agile and waterfall requirement gathering and project delivery approaches
    • Be a committed team player with a flexible, enthusiastic attitude, good communication skills and an ability to adapt and multi-task.
    • Demonstrated ability to solve problems with an exceptional attention to detail
    • Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to lead scrum sessions and working groups.
    • Strong Excel, MS Project, Visio, VBA programming skills and have experience working with relational databases

Nice-to-have

    • Certified Business Analyst designation
    • Training in the BABOK ® knowledge base
    • Hold a Certified Project Manager (PMP ®) designation
    • A degree or training in computer science and / or mathematics
    • Demonstrated experience leading business architecture solutioning workshops
    • Experience working on or supporting an XVA desk
    • Experience work on large-scale trading floor transformation projects
    • Ability to code in VBA and Python would be a definite advantage
    • Experience writing technical specification documents
