Job Description

Oscar Product is a growing, fast-paced team using technology and design to revolutionize healthcare. Our work on tech spans several areas: building innovative consumer experiences, technology and infrastructure, expanding into new markets, creating better ways for healthcare providers to interact with patients, optimizing internal operations and processes, and lots more. And we work alongside a talented team of technologists with Product, Engineering, and Design forming a tight, high-performing partnership.

As a Director of Product (Growth), you’ll join the product leadership team and play a critical role in growing Oscar’s >$2 billion revenue business across three offerings: Individual and Family Plans, Medicare Advantage, and Small Group. You’ll oversee a group of product managers focused on expanding Oscar’s distribution and helping prospective members discover, evaluate, and enroll in Oscar plans. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Marketing, and Operations teams to enable distribution partnerships, expand to new markets, empower brokers with technology to sell Oscar plans, optimize our acquisition funnel, and more.

You will report to the SVP of Product in the NYC office.

Requirements:

  • An experienced product leader and people manager. You have been a product manager and managed product managers for 7+ years. You have a proven track record of coaching and managing diverse teams, helping them achieve strong results and level up in their careers.
  • Highly collaborative . You love being the bridge between tech teams (engineers, designers, product managers) and business teams (sales, marketing, and operations). You see problems from both business and tech perspectives and adeptly drive alignment across multiple teams.
  • A quick study . Healthcare is complicated; you’re curious by nature and excited to get into the details and become an expert in health insurance infrastructure, from how claims are processed to how payments flow through the healthcare system.
  • Strategic and analytical . You can turn new, vague ideas into implementable projects and identify new opportunities that move the needle. You use qualitative and quantitative insights to clarify decisions wherever possible.
  • An end-to-end thinker . You can look at a problem and create a solution all the way from top-level goals to nitty-gritty operational and system details.
  • Great at prioritizing . There are a million ways to make the healthcare experience better. You zero in on the highest impact levers and hold your team accountable for doing the same.
  • Above all: you are mature, open-minded, and nice. (No jerks allowed!)

Responsibilities :

  • Setting direction: defining a clear strategy and vision for how technology can enable Oscar’s business growth
  • Partnering with Go-to-Market leadership to translate business strategy into a high impact roadmap for the engineering, design, and product team
  • Defining KPIs and incorporating qualitative and quantitative insights into day-to-day decision-making as well as strategy evolution
  • Collaborating with Engineering, Design, and Product leadership to make organizational and staffing decisions, motivate and empower your teams, and refine cross-functional processes
  • Mentoring, coaching and providing support to a team of PMs and SPMs
