Love data and how it can inspire change to a company? Join our sales operations analytics team, working hand in hand with the Travel Partners Group Account Management organization, using analytics to drive outstanding sales performance for the global lodging business of Expedia Group.

At Expedia Group, Data and Analytics are the core of all our strategy and decisions. Be responsible for the impactful insights that guide and optimize our global sales performance. Your role will consist of querying sophisticated SQL-based databases, running detailed analyses (e.g. building predictive models), crafting reports and visualizing insights in an intuitive manner. Work closely with other highly skilled analysts across EG, supporting the TPG Account Management leaders with data driven insights.

What you’ll do:

  • Extract data from multiple data sources and combine into the required datasets for model building or analytics.
  • Help in all activities, especially in proper model selection, regularization and evaluation to be able to develop robust solutions.
  • Solidly understand hypothesis testing.
  • Design sophisticated experiments and apply common methods such as linear and non-linear aggression, multivariate analysis.
  • Build end-to-end design of models based on detailed understanding of business requirements, including general approach, choice of algorithm and data sources.
  • Demonstrate business acumen (understanding the underlying business objectives) and critical reasoning skills.
  • Challenge business processes recommending and developing solutions to meet unique business needs and achieve objectives.
  • Know and apply data visualization principles consistently resulting in clear and accurate outcomes.
  • Tailor communications (content focus, style, format, etc.) for different audiences as appropriate.
  • Influence action and results, through clear writing, in an accessible way for a wide audience. Structure presentations around a clear narrative and is concise in what's included. Present clearly and engagingly and anticipates questions.
  • Frame Expedia's most sophisticated business problems as an analytics problem and concrete set of analytical tasks.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or Equivalent Experience; Mathematics, Science, Statistics or Technical degree preferred, otherwise relevant experience is applicable.
  • Develop and drive significant and sustained change and performance improvement from data-driven insights in a number of different areas or contexts.
  • Apply knowledge of intermediate SQL
  • A high performing individual contributor who consistently applies - and sometimes enhances - the analytics capabilities, principles and playbooks to solve complex business issues and opportunities.
  • Operate largely independently and mentors more junior colleagues.
