Location: We are a remote-first company. This role can be based anywhere in the US.

The Opportunity

As a Staff Accountant, you will fulfill an essential role on the Accounting Team in a rapidly-growing company. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, this full-time position is hands-on, with a mix of accounting, reconciliations and operational duties.

Your day-to-day

• Provide hands-on operational and financial reporting support. Responsible for daily aggregation, reconciliation, and recording of transaction activity.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and investigate outstanding items.
• Participate in monthly close by preparing general ledger entries, maintaining records and files, and reconciling accounts.
• Debt warehouse activity (draws and pay downs, interest expense, fee calculations), including related month-end accrual journal entries.
• Participate in interim and year-end audits.
• Continually develop, expand and improve month-end close and financial reporting procedures by streamlining close-related activities.
• Partner with Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager on special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis, and other accounting duties as assigned.

What you bring to the team

• 3+ years relevant Accounting experience in the Financial Industry. Experience with organizations providing consumer lending products ideal. Other strong backgrounds include credit card companies, equipment finance, auto finance, mortgage, or specialty finance companies.
• Prior experience working with reconciliations
• Advanced Excel skills required (pivot tables, logic formulas, vlookup, sum functions).
• Ability to analyze complex problems and recommend corrective actions.
• Experience with ERP Systems. Oracle Financials a plus.
• Bachelors in Accounting or Bachelors in Business/Management with an Accounting focus.
