What You Will Do:

As a Senior Actuary you will lead a team in pricing competitive products that focus on customer value while meeting company profitability objectives.

What You Will Learn:

You will increase your ability to build and maintain strong relationships across Transamerica. You will learn to promote a Future Fit mindset including Acting as One, Accountability, Agility and Customer Centricity.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Collaborates with Product, Distribution and Implementation teams to understand market needs and solve for any systems constraints.
  • Trains other functional areas on new products prior to release.
  • Plays an active role in guiding the preparation and interpretation of actuarial and financial information.
  • Exercises significant judgment in setting priorities and determining necessary tasks.
  • Provides guidance and advice regarding technical actuarial issues such as pricing rates, modeling methodology, reserving principles and related matters.
  • Leads the preparation and interpretation of actuarial information for presentation to Senior Management.
  • Anticipates future market needs and creatively develops solutions for current systems and process limitations.
  • Owns several key projects and sees them through to completion.
  • Leads the development of actuarial talent within the organization.
  • Represents the company on industry and professional committees and/or with regulators.

What You Need:

  • FSA or equivalent professional designation along with bachelor’s degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field, and 8 years of relevant experience.
    • In lieu of Bachelor's, will accept Master’s in a listed discipline and 6 years or relevant experience.
    • In lieu of FSA will accept ASA or equivalent professional designation and 14 years of relevant experience. Demonstrates high-quality leadership, judgment, organization, and prioritization skills.
  • Exhibits management skills to motivate and develop a staff.
  • Effectively communicates, both verbally and in writing, advanced mathematical and analytical concepts to various audiences.
  • Works well under pressure and within time constraints to accomplish individual and team objectives.
  • Preferred: Experience with Axis and pricing Voluntary Benefits health products (e.g. Accident, Critical Illness, Hospital Indemnity, Disability) is preferred.
  • Preferred: Experience pricing Group Term Life and Group Long-Term and Short-Term Disability is a plus.

**Please note that the compensation information that follows is a good faith estimate for this position only and is provided pursuant to the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act and Equal Pay Transparency Rules. It is estimated based on what a successful Colorado applicant might be paid. It assumes that the successful candidate will be in Colorado or perform the position from Colorado. Similar positions located outside of Colorado will not necessarily receive the same compensation. **

Compensation:

The salary for this position generally ranges between $140,000 – $231,000. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operational needs and other considerations permitted by law. The range may vary above and below the stated amounts, as permitted by Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rule 4.1.2.

Bonus Eligibility:

This position is also typically eligible for an annual bonus based on the Company Bonus Plan/Individual Performance and is at Company Discretion at a rate of 25%.
