Position Description

The Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Software Delivery Leader will be responsible for developing and delivering software products leveraging the end-to-end SAP PLM platform.

The leader is accountable for delivering software products using proven Agile methods and best practices, that are built upon the PLM platform as well as delivering foundational enhancements & upgrades to the base PLM platform. The leader will work with global IT functional and country Client Service Leaders (CSL) and business leadership to understand the business outcomes required of the platform. The leader will work with architects, technology thought leaders, and external service providers to understand the current and future underlying technologies to develop end to end software solutions.

Primary activities:

  • Drives the development of the software products developed upon the PLM foundational platform.
  • Leverages Agile methodology for software development and deep experience with Agile tools such as Jira, Confluence.
  • Reviews business requests for product development to maximize business value and undertakes cost evaluation, standards reviews, and prioritization.
  • Guides continuous improvement efforts for the platform advancing its maturity, looking forward at technology trends and capabilities that will enhance business outcomes.
  • Interacts with technology brokers/vendors to identify and evaluate new technology products for the platform e.g. use of cloud solutions
  • Manages a global team, fosters collaboration, learning mindset and creates culture of experimentation and innovation

Position Qualifications:

Education Minimum:

  • B.A./B.S. or greater in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business or equivalent

Prerequisites:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science, business administration, or closely related discipline
  • Seven to ten years of experience in software delivery with direct business engagement across multiple technology domains
  • Agile software delivery experience
  • Adopt technology best practices, with clear documentation of standards, roadmaps, and reference architectures
  • Maintain software products and platform in production including upgrades & enhancements
  • Prioritize and optimize resource/budget allocation across products – full financial accountability
  • Ability to collaborate well in a matrix environment, ‘enterprise leader’ that builds strong internal and external networks
  • Has lead cross-functional project teams with limited direct line responsibility and exceptional project management skills

  • Resource Management
  • Delivery of software solutions leveraging Cloud capabilities
  • Has implemented systems utilizing SDLC methodology in a regulated environment

Preferred:

  • SAP S4/Hana and/or SAP PLM/PPM platform, SAP Cloud Platform (SCP)
  • Business case development and financial modeling
  • Ability to manage through complexity and ambiguity
  • Solid understanding of the value of Master Data management and other disciplines than underpin good Analytics practices
  • End to End mindset – a relentless ability to connect people, processes and information.
  • Awareness of relevant industry business, information and technology trends, in and out of pharma
