Love data and how it can inspire change to a company? Join our sales operations analytics team, working hand in hand with the Travel Partners Group Account Management organization, using analytics to drive outstanding sales performance for the global lodging business of Expedia Group.

At Expedia Group, Data and Analytics are the core of all our strategy and decisions. Be responsible for the impactful insights that guide and optimize our global sales performance. Your role will consist of querying sophisticated SQL-based databases, running detailed analyses (e.g. building predictive models), crafting reports and visualizing insights in an intuitive manner. You will work closely with other highly skilled analysts across EG, supporting the TPG Account Management leaders with data driven insights.

What you’ll do:

  • Extract data from multiple data sources and combine them into the required datasets for model building or analytics.
  • Write codes in a way that enables efficient and accurate translation into a data pipeline.
  • Assess and evaluate the use of various methods when trying to tackle a problem considering the underlying assumptions.
  • Demonstrate understanding of business domain and can recommend model changes, constantly evolving information and requirements.
  • Embed visualization tools utilizing basic techniques.
  • Build complex charts with limited supervision.
  • Anticipate and assist team members in the creation of routine technical communication materials (e.g. policies & procedures, guidelines, presentations, messages).
  • Communicate across various levels of the organization tailoring your messaging to that audience filtering relevant information.
  • Communicate with and influence partners and leadership teams.
  • Clearly and confidently articulate decision-making rationale, solutions, methodologies and frameworks to team members and both technical and non-technical partners.
  • Manage stakeholders with frequent communication, expectation management, meeting deadlines and the backlog.
  • Frame business challenges as an analytics problem and concrete set of analytical tasks.

Who you are:

  • Bachelor's, Master's, PhD or Equivalent Experience; Mathematics, Science, Statistics or Technical degree preferred otherwise relevant experience is applicable.
  • Apply knowledge of intermediate SQL
  • Display strong domain knowledge, business acumen and critical reasoning skills.
  • Relevant experience includes:
    • Developed, and drove significant and sustained change and performance improvement from, data-driven insights. And/or built and maintained a data science project/product in production environments. Demonstrates competency in some areas of statistics and requires limited supervision.
