Providence St. Joseph Health is calling a UX Researcher to our location in Seattle, WA.

We are seeking a UX Researcher to join our dynamic team in downtown Seattle. In this role, you will create understanding and empathy around user needs, stated and unstated, for the product team including designers, product managers, and engineers. You will do so by conducting primary research and your research will help us create useful, usable product features.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • This person will be responsible for designing and conducting user experience research and analyses that lead to genuinely actionable recommendations.
  • Responsible for finding innovative ways to research customer issues, explain their findings and proposing recommendations for change.
  • Ensuring that research data are consistently and accurately gathered, broadly communicated and archived.
  • This position will provide significant input into decisions that shape customer experience, optimization plans, and site design and product development.
  • Responsible for planning, recruiting and conducting user research, including methods such as: usability lab studies, ethnographic field studies, competitive evaluations, participatory design sessions, surveys, heuristic evaluations, cognitive walkthroughs and similar approaches.
  • Use data from multiple sources (e.g. user research, on-site testing, VOC tools, business intelligence tools) to develop insights and recommendations for improving our site performance.
  • Partner with product, product design, technology, and marketing communications to represents user needs and deliver meaningful changes for customers.
  • Create clear presentations which highlight the impact of the customer experience on business results, and impactful insights.
  • Keep up to date with UX research techniques and emerging research tools.
  • Planning research, writing interview protocols, and executing UI research through in-person and remote qualitative research to create a new understanding of user’s wants and needs for our new mobile applications.
  • Analyze data from multiple qualitative insights including market research, voice of the customer feedback, and heuristic analysis to determine new connections and create recommendations for the optimization and enhancements of the UX.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or related social science or equivalent education/experience.
  • 4 years UX research experience; and experience with enterprise level products and services.
  • 4 years significant experience with multiple user research methodologies that span the product development life cycle from conceptualization to launch.
  • A portfolio demonstrating past work experience, deliverables and innovation across a broad range of methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects with varying degrees of complexity with significant financial implication.
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Master's Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, or related social science.
  • Specific experience and strength in qualitative methods.
  • UX design experience.
