The Enterprise API Management program is responsible for delivery of four technology products: Service Marketplace, API Gateway, API Lifecycle Manager, and API Developer Frameworks and Libraries. Each product requires one or more product analysts to create, document, evangelize, and groom user stories, as well as communicate product direction with Scrum team members. The product analyst must strive to accurately understand customer needs, then be able to translate and prioritize those for the engineering team.
The Release Train Engineer's (RTE) major responsibilities are to facilitate the API Program events and processes, and assist the teams in delivering value. RTEs communicate with stakeholders, escalate impediments, help manage risk, and drive relentless improvement. They escalate impediments, manage risk, help ensure value delivery, and help drive relentless improvement. They also participate in the Lean-Agile transformation, coaching leaders, teams, and Scrum Masters in the new processes and mindsets. They help configure SAFe to the organization’s needs, standardizing and documenting practices.
