Role Value Proposition:

Global Technology & Operations (GTO) includes over 17,000 associates across 42 countries Service our

customers in operations and global customer call centers where we deliver global support services, including

global real estate, global corporate security, and global innovation. This role, for an STD Claims Specialist, will

be responsible for providing exemplary customer service by processing group short term disability income

insurance claims in a timely and accurate fashion for a large customer.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manages assigned caseload of short-term disability (STD) and/or statutory claims.

• Evaluates claimant eligibility via information received from claimant, attending physician, and employer.

• Determines whether to return, pend, deny or pay claims. Inputs data.

• Determines appropriate payment period, follows up and monitors payment accuracy and timeliness.

• Follows established claim policies and practices to resolve claims and issues.

• Develops and maintains strong working relationships with internal and external customers.

• Performs other related duties as assigned or required, including mentoring of less experienced co-workers.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

• High School diploma

• 2+ yrs. of experience in insurance claims

Preferred:

• Bachelor’s degree

• 4+ yrs. related experience

• Working knowledge of STD, LTD, group disability, workers compensation, ERISA, social security, and state laws.

• 2-4 years of customer service experience with strong customer satisfaction focus

• Bilingual
