THE POSITION

The Poker Operations Manager is an advocate for poker and responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the poker offering on PokerStars’ USA platforms. Core components of the role include analysis of game performance, recommendation and implementation of changes to the offering, planning of promotions, oversight of usage of new features and games, participation in poker policy discussions, and communicating directly with customers.

THE GAME PLAN
Everyone on our team has a part to play

  • Oversee the deployment and management of the poker game offering
  • Recommend and implement changes to the poker offering to optimize it to specific USA needs based on liquidity and player preferences
  • Request and manage data projects in coordination with Business Intelligence with the aim of providing policy change recommendations
  • Request new development tasks based on player and business needs and ensure that all central development features are properly utilized for the USA
  • Provide timely reports regarding performance to management as required
  • Closely review and manage tournament guarantees to meet the tournament overlay budget
  • Assist Poker CRM with the creation and management of the poker promotional calendar
  • Craft player-facing communications, including but not limited to announcements regarding tournament schedules, promotions, policy changes,
  • Handle escalations from Customer Support for a variety of poker and software/technical issues
  • Research and submit technically proficient bug reports when a problem with the gaming software or back office tools is discovered

THE STATS
What we're looking for in our next teammate

  • 5+ years of experience working in an operational capacity
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, or commensurate online gaming industry experience
  • Exhaustive knowledge of poker, including all game and betting variations, industry trends, familiarity with poker public figures, and understanding of the basics of game theory
  • In-depth knowledge of the PokerStars client, including features and promotions
  • Significant experience playing online poker
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Exceptional written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas and arguments clearly and efficiently in writing
  • Willingness to work long and often unusual hours
  • Intermediate or better Microsoft Word and Excel skills
