As part of our Company's Translational Biomarkers, the individual will play a critical role in the development and validation of Genomics assays within the Translational Molecular Biomarkers (TMB) group. Utilizing the technologies of immunochemistry, mass spectroscopy, genomics, molecular pathology and flow cytometry, TMB is responsible for biomarker assay development, fit-for-purpose validation and analysis of clinical samples.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Genomics assay development and fit-for-purpose validation.
  • Interface with scientists in Discovery and Clinical development in the planning, execution, and interpretation of biomarker strategies.
  • Execute and coordinate the development and fit-for-purpose validation of Genomics assays within TMB and outside laboratories, supporting all therapeutic areas.
  • Execute and coordinate the analysis of clinical samples.
  • Train and guide junior TMB staff in assay development and validation.
  • Identify and evaluate new genomics technologies.
  • Interface with Clinical Research Organizations (CROs) for execution of biomarker services.
  • Write memos, final reports and publications summarizing data and present findings to clinical and other internal stakeholders.

Educational Minimum Requirements:

  • PhD in a life sciences discipline with broad knowledge of biomarker science.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • A minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical or related experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of industry experience in Genomics.
  • Experience with NGS platforms and analysis.
  • Experience in Oncology and/or Infectious Disease fields (desired).
  • Demonstrated strong record of scientific achievement (publications, patents, etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Be able to work independently; strong leadership skills.
  • Ability to execute within a matrixed organization.
