Software Development Engineer II

The Expedia Group, Travel Partner Group (TPG) Team is seeking a highly passionate and motivated Software Development Engineer II to join our Business Contracting Engineering Team. At Expedia Group, we develop next-generation technologies for which we have become world-renowned, and through which we are revolutionizing travel. As a Software Development Engineer II at Expedia Group you will design and implement high-volume, fault-tolerant, scalable solutions. You will work with the team to design, implement and iterate on features quickly and you will challenge yourself to learn more each and every day so you can deliver to your colleagues and clients around the globe.

What you’ll do:

• Work closely with other talented developers, both local and abroad, who are building and maintaining Expedia systems
• You will design and implement scalable and reliable web applications and services
• You will prototype creative solutions quickly by developing minimum viable products and work with others in crafting and implementing the technical vision
• You will participate in a culture of quality and feedback, fostering application of great programming techniques
• You will drive continuous improvement in our software and development process within an agile development team
• You will be passionate about continuous integration and deployment and use practices, like test automation and metrics based monitoring, that support it

Who are you:

• At least 5+ years of industry experience in a variety of contexts, during which you’ve built remarkably scalable, robust, and fault-tolerant systems
• Exceptional coding skills in JVM based languages, like Java and Kotlin etc.
• Experience working in an AWS environment in development, deployment, operational excellence (EC2, ECS, EFS, CloudFormation, Lambda, Secrets Manager, IAM etc.)
• Expertise with continuous delivery and devops, owning your own code in production
• Have a production focus with a previous history of being hands on in solving critical production issues with a customer focus that drives insights back into the product
