Join our family of dedicated, highly valued Patient Care Technicians at Ascension Macomb - Oakland, Warren, MI!

PRN Nights - 12 hr shifts / Competitive Compensation

7-Center is a Congestive Heart Failure Medical/Telemetry 24 bed unit.

Additional Job Details: PRN, Nights 7 p.m. - 7:30 a.m.standard shift, but able to work any shift as able. minimum obligation of one weekday and one weekend shift per month. Must work at least one holiday per year.

Cardiology Unit - 7 Center - 7 Center is a congestive heart failure medical/telemetry 28 bed unit (soon to be 24 bed unit after the expansion project is complete). The department patient population consists of patients admitted from Emergency, and patients transferred from ICU/Step-down, or medical surgical floors requiring telemetry monitoring. The unit utilizes a portable telemetry system with central monitoring at the nurses station as well as portable arrhythmia pagers. These patients require close monitoring and specific interventions for arrhythmias and treatment with vasoactive medication. Staff are ACLS trained, and proficient in dysrhythmia interpretation and treatment. Nurses on the unit are NIHSS certified, and the unit functions as a backup for stroke protocol patients.

What You Will Do

As an Associate with Ascension Michigan, you will have the opportunity to perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.

Responsibilities:

  • Aids with movement and placement of patients.
  • Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living.
  • Reports findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff. Documents necessary records.
  • Keeps patient rooms clean, orderly, and maintains medical equipment.

What You Will Need

Licenses/Certifications/Registration:

  • Required Credential(s):
    • BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date. American Red Cross (ARC) CPR for Professional Rescuers card will be accepted upon hire but renewal must be a BLS Provider card from AHA.
  • Preferred Credential(s):
    • Nurse Aide credentialed from the Michigan Nurse Aide Registry. Any issuing authority accepted.

Education:

  • Diploma
    • High school diploma or GED required.

Work Experience:

  • None required.
