Cisco seeks Senior Solution Architect to join some of the industry’s best thinkers in developing and deploying today’s most advanced networking technologies.

The Team

In this role, you will be focused on Cisco Optical Networking technology to support our Professional Services delivery.

In this role, you should have the necessary skills to deliver Cisco Optical technology solutions on service engagements and provide enablement to our customers around Optical Networking technologies.

As a Solution Architect, you will be working with Cisco Systems Engineer, Customer’s planning/engineering and Cisco Consulting Engineers to design, influence and drive deployment and integration/migration strategy of Cisco Optical networks. You will also be working with Optical Orchestration Software and Automation resources to ensure the efficiency of Optical delivery throughout the project.

The role is expected to be a subject matter expert in the details of planning, execution strategy, and integration/migration approach of Optical technology. The ability to work with other stakeholders on the team to gain additional insight into methods and procedures, quality improvements and related areas is a key requirement for this role.

Role & Responsibilities

• Scope and estimate Cisco solution’s material required to deliver customer’s requirement
• Design, Drive Deployment and Integration/Migration of large/complex Optical networks
• Customer Facing Optical SME for Design and Delivery Strategy Approach.
• Cisco Optical Lead Interface for customer and Internal Cisco key stakeholders’ communications
• Work cross-functionally with other team members on complex solutions

Qualifications

• 15+ years working with optical networking equipment, developing and providing solutions on optical networking technologies and equipment
• Thorough understanding of dense wavelength division multiplexing (DWDM) CDC (Colorless, Directionless, Contentionless) Architecture and Optical Transport Networking (OTN)
• Working knowledge of general networking topics such as TCP/IP networking, routing-protocols operation, Linux operating system, SSH and the capability to grasp new technology concepts quickly
• Strong knowledge of Cisco DWDM Transport Planner (CTP), and future Cisco network planning and design tools
• Experience in design, installation and integration/migration of Cisco Optical platform NCS1002/1004/ NCS2K/4K or similar optical platforms
• Goal-Oriented, self-starter that is capable of driving results in both a team-oriented and individual contributor environment
• Strong presence and credibility with clients and within internal team
• Superior organizational, conflict resolution, time management and negotiation skills
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience with fiber optic characterization (FOC)
• Experience with optical test equipment (OTDR, OSA, BERT, optical power meter)
• Experience with Foundation LAN / WAN technologies & monitoring tools.
• Experience with multi-vendors optical platforms (Ciena, Infinera etc) is an advantage
