Your Impact As a key member of our Validation & Reliability team, your work will be essential in helping us ensure every product and system is evaluated, tested and validated to ensure it meets our internal and customer expectations and drive reliability improvements in product, process and system throughout the entire product lifecycle. We will look to you to help us develop test methods and procedures that drive the testing of our products; apply reliability test best practices and statistical tools to proactively prevent problems and to solve problems after they have occurred. You will have the opportunity to collaborate with Research & Development, as well as other teams helping to define and execute Reliability and Validation test strategies for all Axon products, ensuring our products meet and have margin to meet the full range of the operating conditions, customer usage and design intent. Your technical expertise will be key in evaluating our products, identifying issues as you work with multi-functional teams to ensure all issues are resolved. You will be working with R&D Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Project Management, and Supply Chain, which will offer you the opportunity to use your effective communication skills across different levels in our dynamic, multidisciplinary team environment.

Your Day to Day

    • Develop and drive detailed validation and reliability test strategies on new and existing products.
    • Be subject matter expert in the latest techniques and best practices in Validation and Reliability, leveraging a deep experience in DFR, HALT, ALT, ORT.
    • Support driving the Axon Reliability Program (ARP) including the use of accelerated testing methodologies in the discovery of potential issues early in product development and partner with Engineering to DfR and designing with margin.
    • Develop and Execute Reliability Test Plans
    • Leverage Reliability Engineering background to improve tests and processes
    • Incorporate Statistical Analysis into Validation Testing
    • Modify and create Validation Test Procedures with an emphasis on repeatability and accuracy of testing
    • Execute all Validation and Reliability Tests – including Mechanical, Environmental, and Electrical
    • Apply Design for Reliability methodology
    • Document and report all test status and results to the Engineering teams
    • Work together with Validation & Reliability technicians and engineers
    • Support Failure Analysis and Root Cause Analysis on issues
    • Work with external labs to coordinate required testing
    • Ensure the validation lab and equipment is maintained and organized
    • Implement and maintain 5S Standard for lab organization and management
    • Develop customer usage models of all products

Basic Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Reliability, Mechanical, Electrical or related field
    • Minimum of 5 years of work experience in reliability, validation or qualification testing
    • Strong reliability analysis and test design.
    • Experience in Design for Reliability, qualitative and quantitative test design; test to failure methods and analysis & demonstrated reliability tests implementation.
    • Experience planning, implementing, executing and analyzing Accelerated Life Tests, HALT, ORT tests.
    • Experience with ReliaSoft / ALTA reliability analysis software, or other similar packages.
    • Programming and test automation design is a plus. (LabView, Python, etc)
    • ASQ Certification in Six Sigma, Quality or Reliability Engineering is preferred
    • Experience with identifying, reproducing, documenting and reporting bugs or issues
    • Familiar with Bug and Test Tracking Suites – Jira or Zephyr
    • Experience with manufacturing and assembly process
    • Experience with Product Lifecycle, PLM
    • Experience presenting test plan and requirements to stakeholders
    • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
    • Ability to influence multi-functional organizations
