We are currently searching for a Senior Reliability & Maintainability Engineer to join our team in Richardson, TX. We are seeking individuals with the technical skills and personal leadership attributes to help support program development through the application of reliability and maintainability techniques. The successful candidate will participate in all phases of program life cycle, utilizing reliability and maintainability methodologies as they apply in our systems engineering processes. Key responsibilities include the following: reliability and maintainability support to new development programs, reliability and maintainability modeling and predictions analysis, testability analysis, maintainability and built-in-test demonstrations, environmental testing, FMEA/FMECA, and FRACAS.

Basic Qualifications

Candidates must have the following:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have or be capable of obtaining a US Department of Defense (DoD) security clearance. Candidate selected will be subject to a government security investigation/reinstatement and must meet eligibility requirements
  • This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 3 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience is required.
  • Understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle, with knowledge of how to apply reliability and maintainability techniques

Demonstrated experience in the following:

  • Support design and development teams to develop, assess, and verify Reliability & Maintainability related requirements for mission-critical systems
  • Knowledge of basic circuit analysis and the ability to perform detailed analyses on complex systems
  • Conduct/develop Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analysis (FRACAS), Reliability & Maintainability analysis and predictions
  • Performance of Built In Test (BIT) design / verification analysis, testability analysis
  • Act as an expert technical advisor to engineering and business leadership in the area of Reliability & Maintainability
  • Participate in technical proposal preparation related to Reliability & Maintainability
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively interact and build trust with team members from many different backgrounds, including engineering management, engineering teams, program management, business development, support groups, and subcontractors

Preferred experience and skills include:

  • Knowledge of systems architectures and designs
  • Understanding of military aircraft-related missions, functional operation, performance specifications, and validation techniques
  • Knowledge reliability and maintainability standards such as MIL-HDBK-217, MIL-HDBK-338B, MIL-HDBK-470, MIL-STD-1629A
  • Experience planning and conducting Accelerated Stress Testing, or a willingness to learn and apply those techniques, such as Highly Accelerated Life Test processes (HALT), Reliability Enhancement Test (RET), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS)
  • Familiarity with agile development and model-based systems engineering (MBSE)
  • Good presentation skills with the ability to present to a variety of audiences
  • Active or current DoD Secret clearance with ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance
