Your Role and Responsibilities
Objective of the job:
The person in this role will be the technical subject matter expert and technical lead of data strategy for Source to Pay business area. Part of the responsibility will be to help shaping the data strategy which leverages IBM’s data lake. This will require to establish the data governance rules and technical architecture for multiple IT and business teams. The data architect defines how the data will be stored, consumed, integrated and managed by different data entities and IT systems, as well as any applications using or processing that data in some way. The successful candidate will also drive the development of IT solutions that involves data engagement, ETL (Extract, Transform and Load), data warehousing and visualization.
Responsibilities:
  • Working as active member of an Agile squad through iterations according to prioritized business epics of the product owner
  • Design and implement effective database solutions and models to store and retrieve company data
  • Examine and identify database structural necessities by evaluating client operations, applications, and programming
  • Assess database implementation procedures to ensure they comply with internal and external regulations
  • Install and organize information systems to guarantee company functionality
  • Establish data governance rules and support the different teams how to move and transform data according to those rules
  • Oversee the migration of data from legacy systems to new solutions
  • Monitor the system performance by performing regular tests, troubleshooting and integrating new features
  • Recommend solutions to improve new and existing database systems
  • Educate staff members through training and individual support
  • Offer support by responding to system problems in a timely manner
  • Continuously looking for opportunities to transform existing data and analytics processes and being innovative in applied analytics techniques and business processes
  • Developing own technical skills and knowledge aligned with business strategy. Building the gathered knowledge into team knowledge
  • Support the data engagement, ETL (Extract, Transform and Load), data warehousing and visualization
  • Building own network of technical experts

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Experience with business analytics (SQL, relational DB)
  • Experience with Agile
  • Experience with Data warehouses and/or Data lakes
  • Advanced working SQL knowledge and experience working with relational databases, query authoring (SQL) as well as working familiarity with a variety of databases
  • Experience with cloud services/cloud computing
  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Strong communication skills in written and verbal English
  • Teaming and collaboration
  • Flexibility/adaptability to work with tight deadlines
  • Ability to interpret large amounts of data and to multi-task
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Flexibility to undertake non-routine requests
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical and process-oriented thinking
  • Ability to communicate, organize, prioritize and work under own initiative

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
  • Working experience to build/use MQTs, Stored Procedures and Triggers
  • Experience on any Data Modelling Tool like IDA, Erwin etc.
  • Experience with using/building No-SQL DB products like MongoDB, Cloudant
  • Experience in following technologies or equivalent solutions are all advantage: Tableu, Cloud Object Storage, Spark, Hadoop, Kafka, Python, Distributed Cloud Databases,
  • Any experience in the IBM specific technology is a good advantage but not mandatory: Datastage, IBM Cognos Analytics, Database Warehouse on Cloud
  • Experience with Accounts Payable and/or Procurement processes;
  • Experience with creating and updating Data Validation Rules
