About the role
Robinhood is looking for a facilities technician with a keen eye for detail, technical skills, and an upbeat attitude. Our ideal candidate is someone who can provide support in maintaining the building systems across multiple facilities, perform minor building repairs and conduct preventive maintenance .
Your day-to-day will involve:
- Working closely with the Office Operations & Real Estate teams to ensure that the buildings are in excellent operating condition
- Helping manage facility service contracts and sustaining good working relationships with property management/building engineers and 3rd party maintenance vendors (HVAC, janitorial, etc.)
- Conducting repairs to the facilities, managing office moves, assembling/disassembling furniture, performing maintenance, and ad hoc handyman duties
- Ensuring proper inventories of facility supplies (e.g. ceiling tiles, electrical components, plumbing fixtures, paints, etc.)
- Monitoring HVAC systems and equipment to ensure they are at optimum operating levels
- Assisting with set-up and break down for company events and presentations
- Managing the organization of offsite storage, fitness centers, and assisting with mail operations
- Partnering with the Office Operations, IT, and Physical Security Teams for emergency preparedness (e.g. fire alarms, etc.) and taking appropriate actions
- Collaborating on ad hoc projects with the Office Operations and Real Estate Teams to continue to bring value to our physical locations
Some things we consider critical for this role:
- 3+ years of experience in maintenance/related industry or in business setting in a similar role
- Experience with electrical wiring, refrigeration, heating/air conditioning, plumbing, and/or carpentry
- Passion to maintain the highest regard for workplace safety
- Excellent communication skills and technical competency with Mac
- Attention to detail with a strong sense of urgency
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, working autonomously, and navigate ambiguity with ease
- Strong interpersonal skills and customer service experience
- Flexible schedule to perform building maintenance at early hours in the morning or after business hours, as needed
- Able to frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
Bonus points:
- G.E.D or higher degree preferred
- Trade School, Facilities management, and/or OSHA certifications
- Comprehensive knowledge of Slack and Google GSuite Apps (Gmail, Calendar, Docs, Sheets, Slides)
