About the role

Robinhood is looking to hire an experienced attorney to lead our Corporate Legal team. This role will report to Robinhood’s VP & Deputy General Counsel of Corporate, Product & International and Corporate Secretary. We are looking for an inspiring leader and one who is highly adaptable and collaborative. Your day-to-day will involve:

• Building, leading and scaling the Corporate legal function as we grow and mature towards public company readiness
• Counseling on securities law compliance in the United States and all other applicable jurisdictions
• Advising on corporate governance matters, including support in connection with preparations for Board of Directors, Board Committee and shareholder meetings
• Leading global corporate administration efforts, including compliance with relevant international, federal, and state laws, and maintaining foreign and domestic entities
• Overseeing legal aspects of corporate transactional matters, including M&A, corporate finance, leases and other facilities related transactions
• Counseling on a range of related corporate matters such as executive compensation and stock administration
• Growing and leading a team of attorneys and legal professionals
• Collaborating cross-functionally with Finance, HR, senior leadership and other members of the Robinhood team
• Partnering with our Risk & Compliance team to develop an enterprise-wide ethics & compliance program
• Overseeing the development of our IP program and portfolio
• Partnering with outside counsel with an eye toward driving business goals and providing world class counseling, while effectively managing time and cost

Some things we consider critical for this role:

• J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school (or foreign equivalent)
• Membership in at least 1 U.S. State Bar, with good standing
• 12+ years of legal practice experience, with particular focus on corporate transactions, securities law compliance and corporate governance
• Experience building and leading world-class legal teams
• Substantial in-house experience at a publicly-traded company, with relevant prior experience from a top law firm
• Extraordinary interpersonal and communication skills; phenomenal ability to communicate information effectively internally and externally and to drive cross-functional alignment and action
• Execution-oriented mindset with the humility, drive, and scrappiness to get things done

• Experience with global technology and/or financial services companies
• Membership in the California State Bar
