Purpose of Job

**Currently Seeking a talented Personal Property Field Adjuster (Large Loss) for the Jacksonville, FL or Atlanta, GA territory **
**100% Work from Home environment**
**Company vehicle provided**
Within defined guidelines and framework, provides UNSCHEDULED PERSONAL PROPERTY (UPP) claims service face-to-face directly with members and third-party customers in the field. Investigates, evaluates, negotiates and settles the UPP contents loss portion of property claims presented by or against our members. Analyzes coverage and negotiates equitable settlement in compliance with all state regulatory requirements. Recognizes and empathizes with members’ life events as appropriate.

Tasks:

  • Identifies and manages existing and emerging risks that stem from business activities and the job role.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled.
  • Follows written risk and compliance policies and procedures for business activities.
  • Adjusts complex unscheduled personal property (UPP) claims such as personal property claims involving moderate to high dollar value and Loss of Use claims on personal property involving moderate to high dollar value.
  • Makes independent decisions within authority guidelines regarding determining policy status and coverage.
  • Coordinates with Property Direct Repair Program (PDRP) vendors, specialty contractors, public adjusters and dwelling adjusters to facilitate claims resolution.
  • Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe (CAT) operations as needed to include working significant overtime during designated CATs.
  • Travels extensively as a regular course of business.
  • Serves as a resource to team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • General Equivalency Diploma
  • 2 years of property claims adjusting experience handling moderate to complex personal property claims.
  • Acquisition and maintenance of insurance adjuster license within 90 days and designated number of attempts.
  • Advanced knowledge of XactContents.
  • Strong negotiation, investigation, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of property insurance policies and endorsements.
  • Ability to travel 50-75% of the year (local & non-local) and/or work catastrophe duty when needed

Physical Demand Requirements:

  • Ability to crouch and stoop to inspect confined spaces
  • Meet all USAA safe driving requirements including verification of driving record through MVR & possession of valid driver’s license.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 3+ years prior Personal property adjusting experience to include CAT deployment
  • Reside in or relocate Jacksonville, FL or Atlanta, GA and within 30-45 minutes of a major airport
  • Experience working in a remote atmosphere (i.e. Work at home)
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Industry designations such as CPCU, AIC, SCLA
