Proposal Specialist

The Proposal Specialist is responsible for the creative, legal, and business content for all assigned bid responses. This is a 5-month, W-2 contract position starting November 1, 2020.

Proposal Management:

• Acquires and retains broad knowledge of E-Rate program
• Acquires and retains broad understanding of legal, bid, contract management, and E-Rate processes to mitigate risk to company
• Continuously strives to understand and relate Insight’s value-add proposition to all proposal submittals
• Follows established process steps and requirements for the management of E-Rate proposals
• Coordinates with sales management, sales, compliance, services/practices, pricing, and other resources to conduct Bid Kick-off and touch base meetings where applicable
• Prepares professional responses for assigned bid opportunities working with sales, sales management, project management, services organization, and other entities
• Develops a practical knowledge of Insight’s offerings including systems/software, hardware, and services
• Provides verification of appropriate management approvals (as well as E-Rate/compliance approvals) as dictated by company policies
• Interfaces with proposal and sales management as appropriate regarding bidding issues that require escalation
• Creates final Bid response, may including printing, binding, and boxing response (and possibly driving to the shipping location)
• Ensures professionalism of all output

Liaison:

• Ability to interface with sales and sales/senior management
• Ability to interface with personnel within manufacturer community
• Cultivate and maintain interactions with sales community, sales management, project management, services, and clients, including contracting officers, to ensure effective working relationships are built and maintained

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

• Intermediate or above user of MS O365 and Teams
• Position requires an individual with strong organizational skills who is accurate, self-motivated, timely, and detail-oriented with the ability to work under pressure and meet hard deadlines
• Excellent communication and writing skills
• Ability to multi-task and effectively manage multiple proposals concurrently
