Job Description

Overlake Hospital is seeking a Medical Imaging Assistant for the Imaging Department. The transporter is responsible for transporting patients to and from medical imaging from the patient floors. He/she is also responsible for transporting deceased patients to the morgue, and for the proper documentation around that task. Excellent customer focus is required, making patients as comfortable as possible during the transport to the department. He/she must be detail oriented and ensure safe, expedited transports to maintain patient flow for CT, ultrasound, MRI, radiology, nuclear medicine, interventional radiology, as well as radiation oncology and cardiology. Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team.

Full time - 1.0 FTE (80 hours bi-weekly pay period)
8-hour shifts
DAYS - Monday through Friday, 08:30-17:00

Qualification

  • High school graduate or equivalent required.
  • Healthcare Assistant level CPR Certification required within the first month of employment
  • Evidence of completion of an approved 7 hour HIV/Aids Training course, or must complete the 7 hour course within the first month of employment
  • Previous patient transport, patient aide and film library experience preferred.
  • Be able to transport, ER and IP’s via stretcher, wheelchair, patient bed, utilizing appropriate resources per individual circumstances.
  • Able to use keyboard for data entry.
  • Bending, reaching, and squatting to retrieve information from files, cabinets and countertops daily.
  • Must have mobility, which enables person to access patient care areas.
  • Lift and carry up to 30 pounds of items, such as paperwork and office supplies.
  • Able to effectively write, speak and hear for accurate communication using phones, intercom and face-to-face conversations.
