Why We Need You As we scale for PagerDuty’s next phase of growth, we are looking for a Director of Marketing Planning and Strategy, reporting to the CMO. Partnering with the CMO, marketing leaders and other cross-functional leaders, you will be responsible for driving our marketing planning process, creating a cadence of prioritization and planning throughout the year, driving materials for executive level quarterly business reviews and executing strategic projects that span teams and functions. The leader in this role will own the strategic planning process for marketing to drive the creation of the annual marketing plan and quarterly updates to that plan. This process will include driving alignment with the corporate strategy and objectives, creating a process to continually prioritize marketing initiatives and the allocation of resources to achieve those goals. This leader will work closely with Marketing Ops and Finance teams to drive marketing reporting for C-level and board-level audiences. Together, they will coordinate changes to the financial and headcount plans throughout the year to drive reprioritization to address new opportunities. In addition to driving our planning and reporting cadence, this person will facilitate Marketing leadership syncs to ensure team engagement on the highest impact and highest priority initiatives.This position requires work across the marketing team to drive cross team strategic initiatives and ensure smooth execution of the team strategy.

How You Impact Our Vision

    • Act as a central lead for all marketing planning related activities including gathering inputs, analyzing external environments, creating prioritization frameworks and driving impact KPIs
    • Drive the process for annual planning and manage cross-team participation in that process
    • Drive a regular cadence of marketing planning throughout the year, including a process for ongoing prioritization of budget and people
    • Develop executive communications for marketing business results
    • Collaborate across business functions (marketing, product, sales, finance, legal, people, etc.) to gather the right information, pressure test business cases, co-create deliverables, accelerate execution and unlock value

About You

    • Deep expertise in strategy and planning as well as the marketing functionBachelor’s degree with strong academic performance.
    • Preferably MBA (or similar) from a top-tier program
    • 10-12+ years total work experience in Marketing with several years of experience in strategy and planningSoftware / SaaS industry domain experience
    • Strong analytical and financial skills as applied to a marketing organization
    • Can work effectively across a geographically dispersed team
    • Strong ROI focus and ability to articulate goals and resultsEntrepreneurial self-starter who enjoys working in a fast-paced, innovative high-growth environment
    • Effective at building relationships, collaborating, and influencing others; experience working with senior executives and cross-functional teams
    • Strong communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing
