Job Description

In this role, you have the opportunity to

Drive early and deep procurement involvement on new platform design and product enhancements, while focusing on the End2End approach during supplier selection process and product lifecycle management activities.

You are responsible for

  • Representing procurement in the product creation process including leading Design for Excellence (DfX) conventions, identifying supplier technologies and leading supplier selection.
  • Identifying and executing supplier improvement projects to control and mitigation procurement related risks (quality, availability, cost).
  • Identifying supplier manufacturability issues by collaborating with suppliers and implementing feedback with Engineering.
  • Resolving procurement related escalations by collaborating with suppliers to identify solutions.
  • Supporting the Supplier Quality Manager in new supplier product release process as part of the Advanced Quality Plan (AQP), including compliance and sustainability aspects.
  • Supporting the negotiation teams with conceptual and fact-based information and opportunities to drive significant structural cost reduction improvement.
  • Creating a procurement strategy that enables the business roadmap and providing input to the Commodity teams regarding the supply base characteristics, based on those business requirements.

You are a part of

The Monitoring and Analytics (MA) business group, which resides in the Connected Care & Health Informatics business cluster. MA is a software and solutions business encompassing patient monitoring and its capabilities. Our MA solutions reach more than 370 million people every year. Our advanced intelligence platforms provide clinicians with the information when and where they need it so that they can make smart decisions. You will report to the Procurement Engineering Business Partner.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a Mechanical or Industrial Engineering (ideally with MBA)
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience managing supplier relationships, leading suppliers in new product development and leading supplier improvement projects
  • Expertise in value Engineering, GD&T, Design for Excellence, LEAN, Statistical process control and/or Six Sigma (Black Belt)
  • Experience evaluating and implementing automated manufacturing processes
  • Project Management experience with the ability to think strategically in a global environment
  • Strong organization, planning and communication skills are required
  • Experience in international and multidisciplinary project teams (preferred)
  • Experience working in a regulated industry (preferred)
