Java Lead Software Engineer

Job Description

Position OverviewWe are looking for a Lead software engineer to join our technology team, to work on cloud-based REST APIs, Web applications, and Single-Page Applications. The position will be responsible for software development within this arena. Each project assigned to this position will have its own set of technology requirements and should appeal to someone who likes to be constantly challenged. You will be working on current technologies and influence/provide inputs to technology and architecture direction. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Design and develop code from requirement specifications
• Document requirements and test cases
• Perform testing (unit, independent, system and performance)
• Test Automation
• Learn and implement new development processes and methodologies
• Develop cloud-based SaaS applications in the supply chain domain (Proto-typing, Coding, Unit Test)
• Work through issues independently and demonstrate analytical and abstract problem-solving skills.
• Understand challenges and best practices in the logistics domain and implement best in class solutions
• Communicate with all stakeholders across multiple projects (Development, IT, Clients, Carriers)

Skills and Requirements:

• 10+ Years of Core Java/JEE experience is a must (Servlets, JSP, Web Services)
• Ability to develop RESTful APIs using spring boot following SOLID principles
• Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA, JDBC, and related technologies
• Experience with GIS tools and Maps visualization tools such as Google Maps, HERE Maps, and related APIs and Javascript libraries such as leaflet/Openlayers is a bonus
• Knowledge of open-source Java libraries and Frameworks
• Javascript (with Angular and Bootstrap), CSS, XML, JSON, and HTML
• PostgreSQL or MySQL database development, and a sound understanding of SQL
• Architecture and Object-Oriented Design Concepts, Key Design Patterns (GoF)
