Research Associate or Senior Research Associate – Throughput, Efficiency, and Development

Primary Responsibilities
In this individual contributor, lab-based role, the Research Associate will work in a collaborative environment to improve the performance of process analytics testing to support the Cell Therapy development programs. This position will report to the Manager of the throughput, efficiency, and development team. The incumbent will join a group that values efficiency, high productivity, and teamwork. Key responsibilities include:

  • Improving current processes and methods run within the analytical operations group and develop new technology to increase throughput and efficiency. This will require:
    • Study design, study execution, presentation of results
    • Execution of multiparameter Flow cytometry (Phenotypic, functional assays, etc.), Immunoassays, or molecular assays when applicable.
  • Partnering with Analytical/Clinical Operations, Method Development groups, Data Automation groups, and Process Development groups to support high throughput development.
  • Timely and thorough documentation and completion of electronic laboratory notebooks
  • Author reports detailing experimental work and summarizing results
  • Order, track, maintain inventory of lab supplies, reagents, and equipment

Required Qualifications

  • Research Associate: BS in a scientific discipline with 1-3 years (1+ years with MS)
  • Senior Research Associate: 3-5 years (2+ years with MS) of relevant academic or industry lab experience.
  • Solid knowledge of immunology and cell biology techniques and data analysis
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively work both independently and in cross functional teams, meet deadlines, and prioritize multiple projects
  • Demonstrated experience with aseptic cell culture, cell-based assays, or flow cytometry.
  • Experience working in a self-driven, performance/results oriented, fast paced matrix environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency utilizing MS Office products.
  • Able to creatively manage time and elevate relevant issues to manager
  • Strong scientific and technical writing and presentations
  • Detail oriented with excellent verbal and written communication skills
