Job Description

Farmers Group (Woodland Hills, CA) seeks an Application Subject Matter Expert III to provide high level of expertise in the design and development of functionality of business applications, understand the business objectives and how best they can be supported by IT, and be responsible for the conceptual design of business applications and review and validation of the technical design for business applications provided by the supplier. Specific job duties include: provide 24x7 support for Guidewire Claims Center (GWCC), Contact Manager and dependent applications including third-party supplier integrations; review and validate the detailed technical design for Guidewire Claim Center (GWCC) and Contact center applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements; estimate Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality; perform quality review checks on Guidewire Claims Center deliverables; acts as liaison between Business and IT; support users in building Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high level plan; support the GWCC implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues, training as required; perform impact analysis of GWCC application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system; specify / Recommend Integration and Parallel testing criteria; take responsibility for the conceptual design of GWCC and dependent applications; mentor supplier contract colleagues; work with the Architecture team in driving architectural solutions for GWCC on need basis (e.g., Application architectural models, frameworks, middleware, etc.); analyze and respond to application problem tickets, come up with workaround/short-term solutions, and collaborate with development/COE support teams to define long-term solutions; and provide support to Claims BAU applications, such as Heart, NWCS, HERO, EFNOL, CSP, HPI, Prolaw and other dependent systems. Position requires occasional travel within the U.S.

Position requires a Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Technology, or a closely related field of study, plus 5 years of experience in the job offered, or as a Consultant, Senior Software Engineer, or similar position in developing and supporting P&C Insurance and relevant Enterprise Software applications. Must have 5 years of experience with each of the following: custom software development; and Guidewire ClaimCenter or Guidewire PolicyCenter development and/or Support. Must also have 3 years of experience with each of the following: participating in large Business Configuration efforts; and being a member of a project team through all phases of the project lifecycle including scoping and planning, requirements gathering, design, development, testing, go live, and Production Support. Additionally, specific experience must include: Guidewire ClaimCenter or Guidewire PolicyCenter configuration; Gosu Scripting; Java/J2EE; Oracle/SQL development background; and Selenium automation scripts. Must be willing to occasionally travel within the U.S.
