Providence is calling a Research System Specialist – Clinical Trials Management System (CTMS) to our location in Portland, OR.

Great career opportunity for clinical or non-clinical professional to work as Research Systems Specialist supporting Providence Health & Services system wide.

We are seeking a Research System Specialist to primarily be responsible for reviewing clinical research protocol documents and replicating the protocol schedule of events in Velos eResearch CTMS. Once created, this schedule or calendar is used by others to manage a variety of research activities including billing compliance, budgeting, subject tracking, data collection, and sponsor invoicing.

This may require extensive communication with research department managers, study coordinators and CTMS specialists to achieve consistent and accurate reflection of research projects in the clinical trial management system.

The incumbent performs all duties in a manner that promotes Providence mission, values, and philosophy. In all aspects, he/she serves as a role model for the values and mission of the organization.

In this position you will have the following responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the development of detailed study event schedules from clinical trial protocols and using web based CTMS Velos eResearch.
  • Analyze protocol required events to determine appropriate clinical procedures to be used for budgeting and research charge tracking for billing compliance.
  • Communicate via phone, email, and Lync with research coordinators, department managers, and budget analysts at various Providence facilities throughout the 5 states regarding the specifics of a new study build.
  • Manage incoming requests for new protocols and amendments in a timely manner.
  • Establish and promote positive working relationships throughout the Providence Health System and between other institutions involved in clinical research.
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

Required qualifications for this position include:

  • Bachelor's degree with two years of CTMS relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education level and relevant experience.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

  • Knowledge of research design and experience assessing scientific and biomedical research protocols.
  • Experience in healthcare environment or clinical research setting.
  • Knowledge of medical billing terms or research billing operations for industry-sponsored experimental research.
  • Previous use of eResearch and experience with CTMS.
