Galvanize campuses bring together entrepreneurs, students, investors, mentors, and great people and companies to develop the skills, mindset, and networks necessary to thrive in a technology-driven world.SUMMARY: The Cohort Lead is primarily responsible for empowering responsible autonomy and professionalism with exacting accountability to every participant in our Software Engineering (SE) Prep class. The primary responsibilities of the Cohort Lead is to cultivate a positive student experience and ensure class operations run smoothly. The Cohort Lead maintains accurate student records through the end of class. This role serves as a thought leader in the planning, execution and refinement of the Premium Prep (PRP) Program.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties.
  • Ensure students are achieving their career goals enabling the careers of the next generation of technologists
  • Coach students on interpersonal and non-cognitive skills (resilience and conscientiousness) 1 on 1 and through group presentations
  • Operate effectively and efficiently in google sheets (specifically cloud-based alternative to Microsoft Excel) to verify, track and accurately capture all student-related data within allotted time frames during and immediately after each class
  • Responds to student questions explains Hack Reactor expectations, communicates errors, provides information on the admissions process, prep curriculum, student progress, and staff support
  • Escalating student inquiries as needed
  • Lead daily kickoffs ensuring students communicating any changes that may impact their experience
  • Continually review, update, and revise student-facing documentation
  • Supports scheduling of 1 on 1s with technical mentors and success coach as needed
  • Process mulligans, withdrawals, removals and deferrals
  • Participate in weekly qualitative conversations with all successful students that passed their Technical Admissions Assessment
  • Support the Program Lead in training employees and team planning
Supervisory Responsibilities: This position serves as the lead for in-class operations escalating staff inquiries as needed. The Cohort Lead ensures job functions are being executed and performed as expected. This position has no formal direct reports.MINIMUM REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
  • 3+ years experience in coaching, training, education or engineering OR equivalent combination of education and work experience
Certificates and Licenses: None required.OTHER REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proficiency in Google Sheets, Google Docs, & Google Slides
  • Data processing experience
  • Ability to clear required background check
  • Previous experience working in a remote environment
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience in Emotional Intelligence or SEL Training
  • Ability to model student progress and remove educational roadblocks
  • Skilled and engaging facilitator/lecturer
  • Project Management/Project Coordinator skills
