About the Position

This role involves a mix of operational and project-oriented work. The operational side of the job is focused on a support rotation where specialists are responsible for monitoring the health of Jane Street’s trading infrastructure and working with the trading desks and the other technology groups to understand and react to issues as they arise during the trading day. Quick thinking and effective communication are important parts of this job.

When not on the support rotation, specialists work on projects to improve the trading infrastructure. The project work for this particular role will be focused on working with exchanges and brokers to onboard trading on new venues or in new products. This will involve prioritising requests from the trading desks, liaising with our developers and external parties and seeing the on-boarding process all the way through to production.

About You

• Experience in software development and/or scripting.
• Experience operating and maintaining any complex technological system with real-time demands and requirements, e.g., a production database or warehouse inventory management system.
• Experience providing support in an electronic trading environment.
• Knowledge of on-boarding to new trading venues in multiple asset classes (e.g., equities, futures, options, fixed income) using FIX and/or other order entry protocols.
