Who You'll Work With

You will join our ClientTech Platform team based in New York City, working with designers passionate about creating the very best products for McKinsey consultants, software engineers and data scientists. You will be a core member of the ClienTech Platform Team and a part of a growing global team that is distributed across New York, Prague and Chicago.The Platform team is responsible for developing innovative products that shape how McKinsey serves clients in analytics-based transformations, engagements and asset deliveries. You will be at the core of our impact driven mission of creating change that matters for our clients.

What You'll Do

You will be involved in every aspect of the product development process, from research and ideation through to detailed design and delivery — with an emphasis on user research, rapid prototyping, frequent validation with end users, and creatively approaching constraints.You will be expected to run user research and effectively communicate findings and insights the rest of the team to help drive product direction and contribute to high-level strategic decisions with the rest of the product and leaderships team.You will be comfortable turning concepts into reality, creating user flows and detailed designs to create a shared understanding and alignment across your team with a focus on user interaction. You will collaborate closely with product managers, engineers and others to turn broad, technically complex, conceptual ideas into something useful and valuable for our users, from conception until launch.You will be autonomous and motivated, and a collaborative design leader for your team.You will also have the opportunity to help shape design culture by giving and and be a design advocate for others in the firm.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in interaction design, cognitive science, human-computer interaction, anthropology, psychology, or equivalent experience
• 4+ years experience in UX Design and building products (familiarity with an enterprise setting is a plus)
• A portfolio of shipped products that demonstrates end-to-end product design skills including research, UX and visual design
• Experience working in a technical environment and designing for enterprise-scale SaaS or B2B web applications
• Experience designing and conducting both quantitative and qualitative user research at all stages of product development
• Strong interaction and visual design skills, including use of a diverse set of tools, e.g. Figma, Sketch, InVision, etc.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate and optimize your design decisions
• Experience in building and shipping applications or software in an Agile environment
• Strong problem solving and collaboration skills with the ability to incorporate input from various sources and work with others on a global basis
• Passionate about creating value through great design and user experience
