Job summary

The Red Hat Engineering team is looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in Brno, Czech Republic. In this role, you will enjoy a fun and engaging workplace, with the chance to collaborate with incredible agile teams and people working on open source technologies. This is a great opportunity to craft and hone your skills while working with a wide-range of languages, frameworks, and technologies, including Node.js, Golang, Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift, and our extensive portfolio of Red Hat Middleware offerings.

Primary job responsibilities

  • Be responsible for contributions in a technical environment from coding to architecture
  • Work closely with members of our Engineering, Operations, Quality Engineering (QE), Documentation, and Product Management teams
  • Assist with the planning, fulfillment, and delivery of communicated goals
  • Contribute to open source projects
  • Serve as an advocate and evangelist for Red Hat’s solutions and technologies
  • Work and communicate with a distributed team

Required skills

  • 2-4 years of experience working as a software engineer in a modern development environment with a primary focus on languages like JavaScript (Node.js), Golang, and Java
  • Ability to understand technical requirements and communicate with authority at a technical level
  • Keen interest in open source and contributing to and building communities
  • Ability to quickly learn new technologies, frameworks, and techniques; ability to facilitate technical conversations within your team and with stakeholders
  • Ability to work both on your own and as part of a wider, distributed team
  • Excellent communication skills working with geographically distributed teams
