Vettery engineers are working to build a highly innovative platform enabling an efficient experience for our users. Our engineers work across our full stack Python/React platform, building highly scalable distributed solutions to enable exponential customer and business growth. As a Full Stack Engineer on our Front End team, you will work closely with Product Managers and Designers to build an array of new features for the platform and act as a technical leader and mentor within the Engineering team.

Key responsibilities and expectations:

• Serve as a technical leader while building Vettery 2.0 making key decisions about the implementation of new services and API’s
• Collaborate closely with product, UI design, and data science to continuously innovate on cutting edge projects
• Transform our front end from legacy architecture to React
• Serve as a mentor for junior engineers
• Be supported by expert engineers and managers as you learn new roles, take on different responsibilities, and grow in your career
• While you will spend most of your time in React, you will coordinate with the PHP/Python backend
• Work in a highly agile development environment and practice Agile/Scrum methodology
• Participate in hackathons, team outings, lunches and other team-building events

Candidate Qualifications:

• Self-starter who can work in a highly demanding environment and maintains a positive attitude
• 2+ years of software development experience (preferably in frontend-focused development environments)
• Expert with JavaScript (specifically React) and strong knowledge of HTML/CSS principles
• Experience with one general-purpose programming language, including but not limited to Python Java, C++, etc.
• Strong experience with client-side data management using Redux, Apollo, or GraphQL is heavily preferred
• Experience with design language systems and component libraries, modern frontend frameworks, cloud computing, relational databases, and REST APIs is nice to have
• Experience leading the migration from legacy systems is a plus
• Advanced degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field is a plus
