UX Researcher Summer 2020 Internship

Job Description

This position:

At Thomson Reuters, we are looking for a User Experience Research intern to support our UX initiatives in our Tax & Accounting division. They will work closely with other User Researchers, Designers, and Product Managers. Research is a critical component of the product development process at Thomson Reuters, one that helps our teams understand customer needs, define problems, generate ideas, evaluate potential solutions, and guide product direction.

This position reports to a User Researcher Manager and will be led by one of our Lead or Senior User Experience Researchers. The position is open in Dallas, TX.

The Summer 2020 Program is Scheduled for the following time frame: May 26th - August 21, 2020.

Responsibilities:

• Work with user researcher, designers, product managers and other stakeholders to assist in identifying research needs.
• Assist in the design and execution of research studies.
• Share and present research findings to a diverse, cross organization audience.

Qualifications:

• Currently pursuing a Masters degree or higher in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Social Science, Anthropology, Human-Computer Interaction, Human Centered Design, Human Factors, Design, or a related field.

An individual who wants to gain more knowledge of:

• Multiple research methods and their strengths, weaknesses, trade offs, and appropriate usage during each phase of the product development lifecycle.
• Human cognition in the interaction with web-based applications.
• Design practices and principles.

Strong communication skills with the ability to navigate a corporate environment.
