Job Brief

The Material Controls Specialist reports to the General Manager and is responsible for shipping/receiving and property management for Aurora Flight Science’s operations in Cambridge, MA.

The Material Controls Specialist reports to the General Manager and is responsible for shipping/receiving and property management for Aurora Flight Science’s operations in Cambridge, MA.

Responsibilities:

The Material Controls Specialistwill assemble and prepare goods for shipment, coordinate with shipping companies to ensure timely outbound shipments, verify accuracy of received shipments, update receiving logs, and document receipt information in the enterprise resource planning tool.

The Material Controls Specialist will also maintain inventory control for certain company assets and government property in accordance with applicable government regulations, customer contracts, or corporate policies. They will complete all property related activities at the completion of a contract including the disposition of property.

Required:

  • At least 3 yrs of work experience supporting a fast-paced organization; preferably with shipping/receiving or inventory control experience in the defense or aerospace industry
  • Basic knowledge of bill of material structure
  • Must be able to make judgment calls within the confines of documented processes
  • Must possess good computer skills to include use of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Must possess good communication skills and be able to interface in a professional manner with fellow employees and internal/external customers
  • Must be detail oriented and have strong organizational skills
  • Must be able to maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Must be a US Person

Desired Requirements:

  • Experience working with SAP byDesign
  • Knowledge and experience with regulations and processes associated with maintaining government property
  • Experience preparing lithium battery shipments

Physical Requirement:

  • Capable of lifting 40 lbs
  • Capable of working overtime when needed

  • Regular Shift
