Job Overview
General Mills is seeking a Brand Management Consultant to work on a wide portfolio of brands on an as needed project basis for our Convenience & Foodservice Marketing team. This is a CONTRACT position.
Project assignments can usually last 3-6 months at a time and usually average working 30 hours per week. Project work scope will vary in experiences covering project management, analytics, P&L improvement recommendations customer/channel strategy development/execution, product strategy development/execution, product management, and leading cross functional teams.
- Assess, select, develop and oversee execution of strategies for businesses that drive sustainable growth and deliver financial forecast (Volume, net sales& Profit)
- Lead cross-functional team through development and execution of projects and plans across the 4Ps to win in the market.
- Review performance data to inform shifts to plans to deliver financial targets
- Lead prioritizing business opportunities so cross-functional team can deliver solutions that delight our customers through 4Ps
- Balance and prioritize the roles of innovation, renovation, cost-savings, distribution, trade, revenue management, promotions/communications in achieving growth targets
- Partner with Sales to enable key strategies and activation behind key opportunities
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of work/internship experience, ideally background in:
- Marketing Management, Brand Management or General Management experience
- Large, matrixed organization experience
- Success in leading cross-functional teams
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- MBA
- Experience as a Brand Manager or similar roles
- Experience in business to business settings
- Ability to strategically choose levers to balance short-term commitments and long-term business health
- Understand P&L mechanics and how to impact topline and bottom-line drivers
- Ability to identify and evaluate growth ideas across 4Ps and make connections across our portfolio and segments
- Ability to determine how to use 4Ps to achieve goals
- Demonstrate comfort and capability with business in all stages of growth – established, new, declining
- Ability to work onsite at the Minneapolis Headquarters
